E-Waste Recycling Program

Electronic waste is a new problem for us all;  it is a growing
problem, and one with serious environmental impact.  One
improperly disposed cell phone  may be capable of
contaminating up to 10,000 gallons of water!

Your Hot Springs/Garland County Beautification
Commission is launching an experimental E-waste recycling
program sponsored by Entergy and the City of Hot Springs
Sanitation Department. The Commission will collect, at no
cost, electronic waste from non-profit, civic, educational
organizations and places of worship throughout the county.

E-waste includes cell phones, chargers, computers, TV and
console electronic games, printers, keyboards, modems,
faxes, and other small electronic items.  We will also collect
rechargeable batteries, ink cartridges and laser cartridges
at the same time.

An E-waste educational component is our
Cyber Recycler.
This is a robotic educational tool that is used for school and
press visits to raise awareness of the E-Waste problem and
make the public aware of our new free E-waste collection
program.  This popular unit is capable of significant wire
free travel, voice interaction, and robotic arm movement in
both arms.  This makes the unit a big hit with kids of all
ages, as was demonstrated at every show where he has
appeared.
